AUSTRALIA

The natural beauty of this vast country, the diversity and multi-cultural lifestyle offers an abundance of rich opportunities for the astute traveller, worker or business person. Australias’ land is wide and vast from the outback plains to deep rainforests, crystal white, and golden sanded beaches to the large, modern, liveable, coastal cities; Australia has it all.

 

Australia is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world. It is a mostly safe, multicultural soceity with biodiversity and amazing, unique flora and fauna. The economy is number 12 in the world. Australia has the world’s fifth-highest per capita income. Australia ranks among the highest in international performance, quality of life, health, education, economic freedom and the protection of civil and political rights.

 

THE GOLD COAST

 

The Gold Coast is a coastal city with an estimated population of 679,127 at June 2019, and since 2019 has been classified as a regional area of Australia for visas’ purposes. This opens the Gold Coast to more Visas such as Regional Visas and Migration Programs. The Gold Coast is just north of the Northern New South Wales border and is approximately 66kms south-south east of the centre of the state capital, Brisbane, which is the fastest growing city in Australia. During COVID-19 The Gold Coast and Queensland has fared particularly well and we expect some students may want to relocate to The Gold Coast to study to stay safer from COVID-19.

The Australian, and Queensland Government in particular, wants to attract top talent to Queensland and particularly its’ regional areas. Business Visas and Global Talent Visas are on the list that the Queensland Government is actively promoting for both Australians and International Skilled Workers, Business professionals, and highly educated and skilled people with Global Talent and International recognition. The Gold Coast has new infrastructure projects developing and currently being constructed, such as the M1 Motorway, the Light Rail Service, which will extend to Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast International Airport. Transport options on the Gold Coast include road, light rail, heavy rail, bus, and airport. The Gold Coast has sister city agreements with 12 other cities and partnerships with 4 other cities from around the world.

 

Schooling is of a high standard on the Gold Coast, and there are both Government and Private schools, of which have places for International students. Some of the schools encourage International friendships and exchanges with schools from other countries. Some high schools from other cities around the world have been bringing their students to study and learn English whilst integrating with local students and their families through home stay programs. International students may also study full-time at high schools and on graduation there are world class colleges and universities to choose from in the Gold Coast and Brisbane as well.

 

The Gold Coast is a major tourist destination with a sunny, sub-tropical climate and is famous for its’ world-class surfing breaks, 70km of golden, sand beaches, high rise skyline of Surfers Paradise, theme parks, nightlife, and rainforest hinterland. The Gold Coast is also part of Australia’s entertainment industry with television production, and International Award-winning Film Industry and productions. The 2018 Commonwealth Games were held on the Gold Coast between the 4th – 15th April, 2018. Events include; sports, music, arts as well as other events.
